Weather

Dublin has a similar climate to the UK, and is usually mild in the winter, and cool in the summer, amking it easier to sightsee than in the blistering heat of other European cities in the height of summer. Perhaps you'll be surprised to learn London, Sydney, New York and even Dallas have more rain per year than Dublin.  Whilst the weather might be as warm and sunny, as other places in Europe, there' still plenty to see and do, and you'll find that you enjoy the cooler climate if you intend to see as many of the Dublin sights as you can.

Currency

The currency of Ireland is the Euro, which is the also used in many other European countries. As the exhange rate varies, you'll need to check the exchange rate to make sure you get the best value for money. Why not book your travel money online before you go?

About Dublin

The city of Dublin has been established since well before AD 140,  and it was mentioned by the Greek cartographer Ptolemy.  Since those times, it's grown, and is now a thoroughly modern city, and a popular destination for tourists from all round the world, and also for those looking for new business opportunities.  Perhaps that goes to explain why Dublin is now one of the fastest growing cities in Europe.

There are many famous figures from the world of the arts and entertainment from Dublin. James Joyce, Samuel Becket and Oscar Wilde, are perhaps the most well known.   Dublin is extremely proud of it's culture and heritage, and you'll find libraries, theatres, museums, and music venues here.  Music is another of Dublin’s talents, and U2 and Boyzone are just two of the local bands who have become worldwide phenomenons.

What To Do In Dublin

There's plenty of exciting nightlife in Dublin, and you'll be spoilt for choice if you're looking for pubs, bars and restaurants. The Temple Bar area of the city is renowned the world over.

As well as the nightlife, you'll want experience the famous Grafton Street, and the Ilac Shopping Centre and well as the other shopping districts in Dublin.

Dublin Castle is just a short walk from the Temple Bar, and dates from the 13th Century, and is well worth visiting.
