Coquetvale Hotel

19th Century Country Town hotel perfectly located on the edge of The Northumberland National Park in the beautiful tranquil village of Rothbury - ideally situated as a walking, cycling or outdoor pursuit base - or simply to have a nice relaxing break. We are also an ideal base for exploring North Northumberland with its many National Trust properties and places of interest. Cragside is on our doorstep here in Rothbury, and Wallington Hall and gardens are a 20 minute drive away. The delightful market town of Alnwick is just 25 minutes drive away, home to Alnwick Castle (used as the filming location for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies and is also the ancestral home of the Duke of Northumberland), the award winning Alnwick Gardens and Barter Books, one of the largest second hand book stores in the UK. The heritage coastline is approximately a 30 minute drive away offering miles of unspoilt beaches and beautiful views. The Coquetvale Hotel boasts a very popular award winning Italian restaurant with bags of character, which is open Tuesday to Sunday from 5.00 pm - 9.00 pm. It is also open every Bank holiday and seven nights a week during the school holidays. Restaurant Italia + is very popular with visitors and locals alike, therefore it is advisable to phone the Hotel ahead of your stay to reserve your table, particularly at weekends or during busy holiday periods.
