Durham Tees Valley Airport is this week playing host for a major marketing event by one of the world’s leading car manufacturers.
This morning a specially chartered flight arrived at the airport bringing leading motoring correspondents for the start of a two-day programme to mark the launch of Subaru’s latest generation of its Forester Sports Utility Vehicle.
Twenty of the new cars were at the airport to hand over to the journalists for testing, including off-the-road driving. The vehicles and their drivers are scheduled to arrive back at the airport tomorrow lunchtime when the journalists will board their charter aircraft for a return trip to Farnborough.
Durham Tees Valley Airport Manager Shaun Woods said, “We have been delighted to work with the Subaru team on planning for this exciting event and it is a real coup that such a major company has chosen Durham Tees Valley Airport as the base for the launch of their model. Our staff were closely involved in ensuring that everything ran smoothly and I am sure the event was a huge success.”
