One of the UK’s largest independent tour operators has revealed that its programme from Durham Tees Valley Airport next summer will almost double.
Newmarket Holidays today announced that in total it will be operating five departures from the airport compared to two this summer…as well as flights to Naples and Verona, they will be offering a Venice Cruise and holidays in Madeira.
The news of Newmarket’s expanded programme was warmly welcomed by the airport, which also announced that in the first five months of this year there had been significant increases in passenger numbers on its key scheduled services.
The departure dates for Newmarket Holidays from Durham Tees Valley next summer are:
October 3—Venice Cruise
Announcing the programme at an event at the airport today, organised jointly with the airport and local agency Fairs-Lloyds Travel, Newmarket’s Regional Charter Manager Amanda George, explained “We have had a hugely successful 2014 season from Durham Tees Valley—after a sold-out flight in June we have laid on an additional departure on September 28th.
“The tremendous response of our North East customers has led to the decision to step up to five departures next year and, as well as our ever-popular range of tours to Italy and Austria, we are introducing the Venice Cruise and a programme to the beautiful island of Madeira.
“The departures will go on sale shortly and, judging by this year, expect a very positive response so the advice is to book early either on our website www.newmarketholidays.co.uk or by phone on 0843 316 1129.
“There is also still time to book for the wide range of tours available on our September 28 departure, from Durham Tees Valley including ‘Seven Cities of Italy’ visiting Venice, Verona, Florence, Rome, Assisi, Siena and San Gimignano, eight days in Venice, Verona and Lake Garda, eight days in Portofino, Florence and Tuscany and eight days in the Italian Lakes.”
Added Durham Tees Valley Airport Managing Director Steve Gill “We have had a long and very successful relationship with Newmarket Holidays and they have a great reputation for both the quality and range of their holidays.
“Today’s announcement is a real vote of confidence in Durham Tees Valley from a leading independent tour operator and comes as our latest passenger figures are showing significant increases…with the KLM Cityhopper service to Amsterdam Schiphol up by 10 per cent from January to May compared to the same period last year and Eastern Airways numbers rising by 7 per cent. In additional the weekly summer flights to Jersey, operated by Flybe, have got off to a bright start, with passenger numbers up by 39 per cent.”
