Durham Tees Valley Airport will be underlining its key role in driving forward the local economy at the first-ever Tees Valley Business Summit today (July 10th).
The Airport is joining with companies throughout the area for the event at the Teesdale Business Park in Stockton which will include a range of sessions led by industry experts, as well as one-to-one meetings, networking opportunities—and a keynote contribution from Employment Minister Chris Grayling.
Says Peter Nears, Strategic Planning Director with the Peel Group “Since Peel Investments (DTVA) became the majority shareholder in the airport earlier this year we have made clear that one of our key priorities is to strengthen links with the business community because their involvement is vital in supporting our existing services and working to develop new opportunities.
“We had a tremendous response from local companies when, with support from Tees Valley Unlimited and our local authorities, we launched our major ‘World on Your Doorstep’ marketing campaign with our key partners KLM in May and we again joined forces with TVU at the Routes Europe 2012 event in Estonia.
“Today’s Summit provides another opportunity for us to meet with many different interests, to show that the airport is at the heart of the drive to bring jobs and investment into the Tees Valley—and to discuss how best we can work together to provide our local businesses with the links they need to compete in the worldwide marketplace.”
